FAQ

We will be holding a Kickstarter campaign to secure funding for the first run of the Nomad Awnings. During this first run all payments will go through the Kickstarter platform.

Fabric will be available in black, and likely one additional color. This second color will be determined by survey from our customer results at a future date. Text can be printed in: Black, white, white splatter on black, or black splatter on white. Plastic parts can be made in just about any color for a small upcharge.

Our awning stands freely without the need for traditional support legs. This is part of what gives the design its speed. The design cantilevers securely off your roof rack.

Universal clamps allow mounting to any rack system without the need to make permanent changes to your rack. The awning can be securely installed in under 5 minute with just one person.  Check our Product info page for further information on securing your awning.

Two sizes are offered: 5 and 7 feet long. Both lengths open 6 feet out. 3″ of rack space is used.

Prices very based on size and options selected. Standard Kickstarter prices will be between $550 and $610. Early bird discounts may be available. We cannot guarantee this this price will remain for retail, so get them while they’re hot!

Nomad Awnings are designed, fabricated, and assembled in Washington State.

We will be able to ship our products to anywhere inside of the United States and Canada. If you are located outside of these areas please send us an email and we can explore different shipping options.

Both sizes weigh under 30 lbs.

The fabric is a PVC backed vinyl, which is isued in raft and drybag construction. The material is UV inert, completely waterproof and resists stretching.

The frame of the awning is constructed from 5000 and 6000 series aluminum, machined for us here in Wasington State.

Stainless steel fasteners are used throughout to prevent rust and corrosion.

All plastic parts are 3D printed in house from PETG. This material provides ABS like performance while being non toxic, resilient to high temperatures and UV inert.
